15-minute Blue Hour Photoshoot — Luna Pier, Michigan

Blue hour on the beach is a mesmerizing spectacle that truly enchants the soul. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a canvas of ethereal blues and soft purples, casting a gentle, soothing glow over the tranquil shoreline. While the faint sound of crashing waves serenades the senses, it’s hard to not take in the fleeting moment of serene beauty, where time seems to slow, inviting contemplation and wonder at the natural world's profound artistry.
My friend Kyla (@kylayw) and I recently got together at the beach in Luna Pier, Michigan - someplace I’d never been before. Kyla grew up going to the beach here and has been for multiple photoshoots, so I thought it would be a great place for her to take the lead on exactly where we should meet. Once we both arrived on-scene, I grabbed my gorgeous wooden chair out of my trunk; would you ever believe I found this chair on someone’s curb? I can’t believe someone was throwing this beautiful work of art away, and I’m SO glad I found it before anyone else did!

We incorporated fake pampas grass of varying colors to accentuate Kyla’s skin tone, makeup, and the gorgeous rose color of her dress. Multiple flocks of birds flew by in the background, making for an astonishing scene. The soft, soothing sound of the waves harmonizes with the subtle interplay of colors, creating a serene and almost otherworldly atmosphere. It's a time when the beach seems to hold its breath, inviting you to pause, reflect, and savor the fleeting moments of this natural masterpiece.
